Topic: Customized Edit Page

Hi All
Is anyone willing to make me a customized addition to the edit page?  (ie edit.view.php in /monstra/plugins/box/pages/views/backend). I want  to add a new field called 'Type' that will have input from a drop-down list (that I, as administrator can supply eg 'Report', 'News', 'Details' etc etc). I am hoping that field will also be written to the XML page monstra/storage/database/pages.table.xml

Now that's not too much too ask is it?

You must then update pages.admin.php too...

Re: Customized Edit Page

Thanks for that...
I've had a look and I don't really know what I'm doing. In fact I found no less than 9 files of edit.view.php
I figure that the one I need to change to make the web interface amendment is plugins.box/pages/views/backend but I still don't know what I am doing...
I don't suppose you could do it for mecould you Sergey? If I asked pretty please (an old western begging stratagem smile ).

Why do you need this field with 'Report', 'News', 'Details' ?

Re: Customized Edit Page

The reason for the categorization (or type as I have suggested) is to assign a specific icon against the headline (or title) on the front page of my web site. Each headline is a link to the contributors report or story. The front page utilize the data from the generated xml (via jquery) to display a headline (title) and an appropriate icon according to the type.

I do have a work around and that is for the contributor to make sure that they put the specific word (Report, News etc) as the first word of the title and then I would search for this word.  I also have to ensure that the contributor understands that they need to do this. Incorporating these type via a drop down menu will make it simpler and obvious.
